A Hobbit’s Tale
NICO CAPRIOTTI
Born and raised in Oregon, I’ve spent most of my life drawing and building my artistic skills to where they are today. If I’m not drawing and watching anime, I’m playing video games, adventuring in D&D, reading comics, and hiking.
In 2015 I collaborated with three fellow artists and we created Ditton Comics. A webcomic site where we create a variety of comics that showcase inclusivity and highlight that there is no “one right way” to draw comics. While I continue to collaborate with the other Dittons to create comic content, my passion for art continued to push me in a direction where I could connect with others and help bring their artistic visions to life.
In 2020 I jumped in with both feet to begin tattoo school and graduated later that same year. The school I attended was also a studio where I was able to spend time honing both foundational, practical, and business skills.
During 2022-2023 I co-owned a studio located in Forest Grove, Oregon called Kaiju Tattoo. I am so beyond proud of what we accomplished and created. Thanks to Kaiju, we showed clients and our community that tattoo shops can be not only free of judgment, but welcoming and safe.
In 2024 I set up shop inside of a spa and took time to earn my Esthetics and Advanced Esthetics license. Educating myself in this area allowed me to build on my tattoo skills as skincare is fundamental to the industry.
In 2025 I joined the crew of Upper Moon Tattoo in North Portland. Here I have been able to hone in on skills I’ve been striving to build, work with an array of talented artists, and welcome more people into my client base!
I have endless support and trust from every person I work with, and am deeply honored to be where I am today. I’m excited to continue this lifelong journey, to see where it brings me, and how I will grow from it. Most of all, I’m grateful for you as I would not be here without clients trusting me with their visions.
